The demo is focused on illustrating how IoT can support parking availability, waste management and lighting through out the city and much more.

Demo Overview
Smart Cities is a term describing comprehensive development concepts aimed at making cities more efficient, technologically advanced, greener and more socially inclusive. The idea of the Smart City goes hand in hand with the harnessing of digital technologies while responding to the economic, social and political challenges facing post-industrial societies around the turn of the millennium. In context of the Internet of Things, the entire urban environment is equipped with sensors that make all captured data available in the cloud. This creates a permanent interaction between citizen and the surrounding technology.
Using connected devices as part of the city infrastructure the government or related service companies get higher visibility on their usage. That enables improvements and more flexibility in maintenance, in managing and monitoring the infrastructure while decreasing costs of running infrastructure and providing citizen services. The following dashboards providing an overview of some simple KPIs based on sensors connected to the device management infrastructure of Cumulocity.
Key messages
Device Management & Condition Monitoring enabling the government to monitor, manage and track various events across the smart city
API Enablement to expose APIs to be consumed by service companies enabling them to provide beneficial services to citizens
Citizen access to data allowing them to gain access to information on the smart city
Highly secure and encrypted device communication
Highly scalable and flexible deployment infrastructure
Applications development time is reduced from many months to a few weeks
